Oliver Curran Construction, a groundworks and civil engineering business working out of South Ruislip, West London, has just taken delivery of the first brand new Kubota KX060-5 sold in Europe. The new machine was supplied by Tring based Boss Plant Sales, the Kubota dealer for London, the South, and South East England, replaces a 5-year-old Kubota KX057 and joins a fleet of 8 Kubota mini-excavators run by Oliver Curran Construction.
Commenting, during hand-over in Boss Plant’s yard in Tring, Michael Kelly, Oliver Curran Construction’s Construction Director said,” We’ve run Kubota mini-excavators for over 15 years, and we wouldn’t consider anything else. They are both reliable and economic to run, and they maintain a high residual value, even after 4- or 5-years hard use. Our operators know the machines inside and out and they are both safe and comfortable using them.” The KX060-5 features a conventional tail swing, which can be used in different and more demanding applications than the U-series. For instance, it is the machine most suitable for heavier attachments due to the offset of the counterweight. The KX060-5 is equipped with a full-colour, high-resolutions 7-inch LCD screen and jog-dial navigation as standard, to give operators better access to machine information. They also all have a high-visibility orange seatbelt and alert functions to encourage the operator to wear the seatbelt. Noise levels inside the cab have been reduced by 5dB to 74dB. The KX060-5 is powered by a Kubota Original Direct Injection Engine with common rail system (CSR) and a diesel particulate filter (DPF) muffler, which meets Stage V emissions legislation. The new DPF helps to reduce maintenance requirements by increasing the service intervals for both the regeneration filter and the ash cleaner. When maintenance is required it is now more convenient due to better access, offered by the wider opening bonnets. Comments are closed.
