Nigel, can you tell us a little about your background and what attracted you to joining Boss Plant Sales Ltd?
I’ve spent over 40 years working within the construction and plant machinery industry, working in various sectors with roles such as plant operator, engineer , service manager, working on a production line building the machinery, then in to sales for which this is my 25th year. Since then I have been building relationships with customers across the south and helping businesses invest in reliable equipment that supports their growth. Throughout my career, I’ve worked closely with plant hire companies, contractors, owner-operators, and construction professionals, so I understand the importance of dependable machinery and strong aftersales support.
What attracted me to Boss Plant Sales was the company’s reputation, ambitious growth plans, and customer-focused approach. The business has built an excellent name within the industry and represents some of the strongest manufacturers on the market, so it felt like a fantastic opportunity to be part of the next stage of growth.
What excites you most about leading the expansion into Essex?
The opportunity to establish and grow our presence in Essex is incredibly exciting for me, especially as it’s an area that means a great deal personally. I was born and raised in Essex, so being able to support businesses and customers within the region is something I’m genuinely passionate about.
Essex is a key area for construction growth, infrastructure projects and plant hire demand, so there is huge potential for us to support both new and existing customers in the region. I’m looking forward to building strong local relationships, developing the new depot, and ensuring customers receive the same high standards of service, expertise and support that Boss Plant Sales Ltd is already known for across London and the Home Counties.

With my experience in the industry, I understand the pressures customers face on-site and the importance of keeping equipment working efficiently. My focus will be on building long-term partnerships, understanding customer requirements and making sure we deliver the right solutions backed by excellent service and support.
